How to be more productive? CEO hacks!

We all want to be productive. Don’t we?

Keep on reading if you want to do more in less? i.e. how to be more productive.

Let me start with a small story.

Before becoming an entrepreneur, I started my professional journey during my college days, and while working for a regular 9 to 5 job for some years, I realized that I have the inner potential and passion for achieving even more.

I thought that working under set deadlines is extremely disappointing and one day, I questioned myself, can I start my own business and be on top just like other prominent entrepreneurs?

This thought gave me a push to start something on my own, and this is how I decided to quit the job and set up my first-ever business. I launched Domain and Web Hosting Company, way back in 2012.

After running it successfully for more than three years, I decided to sell it off in October 2015.

The challenges that I faced in my last venture, I decided to fix all of them in this attempt.

Danish Wadhwa entrepreneurial journey

Understanding the current workplace environments, I witnessed that Productivity is one of the most critical and challenging issues that many organizations are going through.

After closing the operations of my first venture, I realized that it’s difficult to be one’s boss.

I had to face many challenges during the initial days of my business. For me, the biggest problems were handling various tasks altogether, managing team, and turning targets into profits.

There were days when my entire day used to go in multitasking. I felt like I was becoming a jack of all trade and the master of none. I could not focus on my business properly and felt nonproductive for most of the days.

I felt deeply frustrated because I was working incessantly 16 hours a day. It was the only reason why I thoroughly conducted market research to explore and employ best of the ways to boost my productivity.

See, today every company aspires to be successful and profitable. But, a company can only be successful, if it shifts focus on productive than nonproductive activities. But, the question is – how to hit the bull’s eye in a single shot?

Knowing that productivity is the key challenge that markets are facing today, I started my second venture – fly.biz recently.

The reason why I started this company is to give the right tools and hacks to professionals and organizations so that they can increase their productivity levels.

Going by people’s psychology, “The word “Entrepreneur” seems glamorous.” But, if you ask me, in reality, it’s not glamorous at all.

  • You’ve to work nonstop for hours.
  • You’ve no family life.
  • You can’t manage too many things at one time.
  • Doing own business is a full-time job

So, I explored and embraced new ways to boost my productivity. I am certain that employing these tips and tricks can make everyone productive.  Let’s explore, how to be more productive at work.

6 Best Productivity Hacks worked for me

1. Schedule my day

As an entrepreneur, I have to be on my toes so that my business doesn’t fall off. And to be right on track, I utilize the right tools to boost my productivity.

To manage my time efficiently, I plan my day well in advance so as to achieve my daily targets on time.

  • I remain organized by keeping a note of everything. Evernote is one of the best productivity apps that I use.
  • Google Calendar is another app that lets me schedule major appointments, meetings, set deadlines, and reminders for particular events. Email notifications and mobile messages let me stay on plan.
  • From planning the editorial content to publishing articles on various social media platforms, I immensely rely on Coschedule. This app is an all in one marketing tool that allows me and my team to stay organized.

Being an author, at worduct and danishwadhwa.com I schedule my blogs through Coschedule App.

The another most powerful tool of this app is Headline Analyzer through which I am able to check out headline quality that automatically doubles the website traffic.

  • Google Docs is another online office productivity tool that permits me to create, edit and share documents, spreadsheets and presentations in the real time.

With this, I can easily collaborate with my team at anytime, anywhere.

  • Grammarly is one of the best editing tools that I often use for creating an error-free copy. It helps in fixing all common grammatical errors that we usually make. Before publishing my blog, I always do a final proof-reading with this fantastic tool.

You can check out the paid version of this app to keep an eye on plagiarism too. You can use Grammarly as a Plugin in Google Docs and WordPress as well.

  • Hangouts are one of the most popular apps that help me to connect with my team at any time.

2. Follow my “to do list.”

Creating an efficient to do list that works well for you is tremendously essential for all. Either it’s about fulfilling your personal or professional goals, to do list is must to work systematically.

I always follow my to do list and endeavor to finish my most important tasks first.

3. Ask for daily report

The daily report allows me to keep a regular track of employees’ performance and the targets they accomplish every day.

A daily performance report is one of the most successful ways to find out employees’ productivity and progress.

It is regarded as the best performance method for employers as they know who is doing what and how many targets one achieves.

Also, employees take every project or task seriously which, in turn, maximize their productivity.

4. Talk to my employees

The best way to improve the performance of your employees, it is best to get in touch with them on a personal level.

I follow this thumb rule every day and helps in understanding their problems and individual concerns.

I believe that more you get into employees’ shoes, your staff can work efficiently and achieve better results.

5. Organize training sessions

I think that an organization or a business can only grow if employees are well-informed and keep upgrading their skills from time to time.

So, to make my employees more productive and results-driven, I keep organizing weekly training sessions to increase the knowledge and skillset of all my employees.

They learn new tips and tricks on various areas, and they can enhance their work efficiency.

 6. Engage in mind refreshing activities

You all have to agree with me that no one can work 24/7. We all need a quick break from work to feel stress-free for a while.

After working continuously for hours, I play refreshing games along with my entire team that further creates a positive environment, rejuvenates my mindset and boosts employees’ productivity and enhances performance.

Conclusion

I follow this most productive work schedule.

These tips will surely turn wannabe entrepreneurs into more than results-driven professionals. They can improve their team’s’ productivity, performance and sustain their businesses for a longer period.

Hey Danish, I like the way you write. I want to add here that:

The biggest hack is not really a hack — it’s a way of working! The trick is to break large tasks into small, concrete bits of work that you can accomplish in a few hours (or a day at most.) That way you’ll make progress every day, which keeps your positive energy flowing and guarantees that you don’t get overwhelmed by all the other potential things you could be doing.

It also helps to have a good work environment. My personal preference is a quiet space and good music.

    Thanks for article.
