How to set up Domain Alias in cPanel

Domain Alias in cPanel or Domain Stacking is creating additional domain names that would point to the IP of a different domain. Parking of Domains is also called as Domain Aliasing.

As an example, let’s say you have an existing Web site at www.yourdomainname.com. You could add an extra domain name called www.yourdomainname.net and can set it up as a domain name alias for yourdomainname.com.

Setting up Domain Name Aliases

Perform the following steps to set up the Domain Alias:

1. Login to cPanel.

2. Click Aliases icon under Domains Section.

3. Enter the new domain, then click “Add Domain”.

Note: Be sure to set your domain alias’s DNS settings to the same as your main domain, so the redirection will work properly.

You now know how to create a domain alias from cPanel. You can also do the domain parking to create the domain alias. Read our guide to manage Domain Parking in cPanel
